Fashion Forward: why style is important
How to pick Valentine’s jewellery for your partner
Valentine’s Day is the one day a year that’s dedicated to everything lovey-dovey and romantic! There’s no better time to show your special someone how you feel than February 14th, and there’s no better way to show it than with the perfect piece of jewellery.
What you want to say
The first thing to consider when you’re picking out jewellery is what you want your jewellery to say. One of the most common mistakes with jewellery is buying something expensive and over the top to show how much you love someone. Buying a diamond ring, for example, suggests something totally different than a pair of earrings or a necklace! If you’re looking for something that’s lovely and understated, then we recommend going for a pair of hoops - they’re chic, sophisticated and perfect for every day!
Picking their style
One of the most important parts of picking jewellery is selecting a style that the recipient will love. This can be tricky, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of ways to figure it out! Firstly, select a metal colour - most people tend to favour one over others, so make sure you match your gift with their current jewellery palette. Secondly, take note of the pieces they like to wear - if they never wear bracelets, there’s probably a reason! Lastly, picture them in the piece - a necklace might look lovely in the shop but that doesn’t guarantee it will look nice on them.
The extra touch
This isn’t essential but it can give your jewellery gift something extra special! Match your jewellery gift with an imaginary debut appearance. Bear with us! If you bought a pair of elegant drop earrings, for example, you might imagine your partner dressed up for a fancy dinner, and if you bought a layered necklace, you might think of a picnic at sunset. Allow your imagination to conjure the perfect occasion for your jewellery gift and tell your partner when you give them the jewellery. This is such a special extra touch that really allows your gift to shine!
Jewellery is the perfect gift for your partner, especially on Valentine’s Day! If you take the time to consider the kind of jewellery they’ll like, the style they’d prefer and a perfect occasion to wear it, you’ll select the perfect piece for your loved one!
New Year, New You: Four ways to switch up your style
There you have it - 2019 has been and gone! We all know what means - it’s time to say goodbye to the old you and welcome in a brand new wardrobe! The start of a new year is a great time to refresh your look and switch up your style. Here’s our top four ways to do just that!
Monochromatic
Red. Navy. Lilac. Whatever your favourite colour is, this is the year to take it to the max with a monochromatic outfit. Challenging yourself to create a cute outfit from shades of the same colour will make you think differently about how to put pieces of clothing together - plus it looks super trendy! We can see this becoming more of a style trend in the new year, so get ahead of this future fad and start colour-coding your wardrobe now!
Go unisex
Unisex clothing is going to be one of the hottest trends of the year! We can all admit to wearing a ‘boyish’ hoodie on an occasional lazy Sunday, but we’re afraid to incorporate it into our everyday look! Our advice is to experiment with the idea and see how far it takes you. Don’t just limit yourself to wearing oversized tops! Why not try wearing a shirt jacket, for example, or a shirt with braces? Going unisex is a great way of switching up your style and opening up your shopping options!
Try bold
Let’s be honest - we all have at least one bold trend that we like but haven’t been confident enough to try. Well, not anymore - 2020 marks a new decade and a fresh start for your style and decision-making! Whether it’s rocking double denim, wearing animal print or being more daring with colour combinations, we say - go for it! There’s no better time to reclaim your style and make bold decisions than the start of a new decade!
Dress down your glam and layer it up
We all have at least one evening gown that we only wear a handful of times throughout the year. Try taking the gown out more by layering it up! The best way to turn a make dress or gown suitable for any occasion is to layer casual pieces on top of it. For example, wear your favourite LBD underneath a roll neck jumper and accessorise with a pair of leggings and boots. No piece is too glam when you layer up!
2020 brings a new decade and with it, a new opportunity to switch up your style. Whether you decide to take our tips for layering, going bold, trying unisex or opting for monochramtic outfits, the most important thing is to always be confident with your look!

La Satina: an introduction
Indulge yourself in true luxury with our La Satina collection! This collection is inspired by the textures and patterns of satin: Georgiana’s favourite material. We wanted to create pieces that were as much about the way they feel as the way they look!
Our La Satina collection began when Georgiana brushed her hand over a favourite satin scarf and thought how lovely it would be to have a jewellery collection made from the same material. She was surprised to discover that whilst there were lots of types of brushed satin jewellery on the market, all of them felt the same as smooth metal - which she knew she had to change!
We experimented with a number of techniques to see if reaching our desired effect was possible. Finally, we refined the process to the one we used today. We can’t tell you exactly what it is though - that remains a secret! What we can say is that our La Satina collection is luxury for both your ears and your eyes! The beautiful texture and pattern of these pieces is what makes them so special. We invite you to indulge in some brushed satin for yourself.
Warm Winter Getaways: Our favourite city breaks to escape the chill
It’s a fact of life that some of us just don’t like the cold weather! We’re not suited to wrapping ourselves up in layers, we belong in summer clothes and shades, soaking up the sun! Even those that don’t mind cold snaps would agree that they could always do with a warm getaway. Here’s our favourite city breaks to escape the chill!
Seville, Spain
Between the smell of Seville’s famous orange marmalade hanging in the air and the sights and sounds of Flamenco travelling through the streets, Seville has plenty more to offer than just warm winter weather! This historic city is the jewel of Southern Spain and amongst its winding medieval lanes and baroque architecture, you can experience one of the most unique cultures in Europe - and some of its best food too!
Athens, Greece
This city is a true historical gem. We recommend at least a long weekend in the Greek capital - Athens history spans over 3,400 years, so it’s pretty hard to squeeze that into just a couple of days! It’s not only a place to learn about on ancient sites though, Athens has plenty of restaurants, cafes, museums and nightlife to enjoy. With winter temperatures in the mid to high teens (°C), it’s a winter-getaway-wonderland!
Lisbon, Portugal
The second oldest city in Europe behind Athens, Lisbon is a city which fuses old charm with contemporary energy. Sitting halfway down Portugal’s west coast, it boasts a seaside feel that only adds to its appeal. Enjoy some of the most delicious seafood dishes in the world before hitting the trendy artistic districts or travelling on a wooden tram through the Old Town - all in a pleasant average daytime temperature of 14(°C), not bad!
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is one of the most popular destinations in the world and in winter, it’s no exception. This bustling Spanish city has something for everyone: that’s if ]beautiful architecture, bustling markets, delicious food and a vibrant nightlife is enough! Temperatures in the low to mid teens (°C) make this one of Europe’s most visited cities all year -round.
Caligari, Sardinia
Whilst Caligari is a city, it definitely feels more like a town! You’ll only have to take a 360° spin to see people standing on street corners chatting the time away or enjoying a long-lunch al fresco style! This is the social butterfly’s paradise and the laid back culture here is a perfect trip away for those that live a busy city life.. Enjoy Caligari’s Christmas markets in nothing more than a light jumper? Sounds pretty good to us!
What better time is there to go away than winter? You get to avoid the sweaty summer crowds and enjoy these cities at your own pace. Plus, you get to boast to everyone back home that you’re walking around in nothing more than a tank top!
